The KOM Rides for EOD Wounded Warrior

Supporting Each Other

The Boob Ride has always had a great turnout from the Navy EOD Wounded Warrior riders.  Since we've supported each other's causes, we would like to invite all our Boob Riders to support them as well. Our event would not have been as successful without their early and continued support. The Most Inspirational Bra is in memory of Commander Kevin Childre, who also won the Yellow Bra.

Their Service

EOD stands for Explosive Ordnance Disposal, the disarming and disposal of bombs. EOD technicians are highly-trained military members serving in the Army, Marines, Navy, and Air Force who are responsible for disarming, rendering safe, and disposing bombs. The EOD profession is one of the most dangerous occupations in the military.

On average there are over 7,000 brave men and women serving as EOD technicians who willingly put themselves in harms way to protect the lives and property of others. Their service includes support to the most complex special operations missions.

In current conflicts, bombs known as improvised explosive devices (IEDs) are responsible for the majority of fatalities and severe injuries to our troops.

Their Sacrifices

When EODs technicians are wounded, they sustain some of the most severe and often life-changing injuries including loss of limbs, burns, paralysis, blindness and traumatic brain injury (TBI). Many EOD warriors also experience Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Recovery and rehabilitation from these injuries can be extensive and require months and sometimes years of inpatient and outpatient care and has a significant emotional and financial impact on the injured EOD warriors and their families.

For the families of fallen EOD warriors, the surviving members face many changes and challenges in their lives as they grieve the loss of a loved one.

Multiple KOM Rides EOD Wounded Warior

One of our best supporters and good friend, Dickie Dahlerus, is riding in the EOD Wounded Warrior ride this year. He has ridden the event many times to show his support for this great cause.

Dickie has won the King of the Mountain (KOM) Bra many times. If you have ridden with him, you know he is a strong rider. Every year he finds a way to help us beyond just doing the ride. In 2016 he had a friend that is a seamstress make custom bras for the award. He never like our original because it was not true to the Tour de France KOM award. It really need red polka dots that were properly sewn in place.

Please show your support for this great cause and support Dickie with his efforts. Donate here.
